Part 1: Imperial Official Examination

Emperor Qianlong is planning to take princess as another concubine from Sixth Royal Family. Princess makes her first move to propose a chess competition to find her consort, because she is a chess expert and prefers following the fate. Liu Yong is on the way to capital for the annual imperial official examination. During the trip, Liu Yong beats and wins the chess competition unintentionally when passing by the chess competition. Jiangsu superintendent Ye Guotai is a corrupt official. When Emperor Qianlong makes a tour of inspection in South China, both Ye Guotai and He Shen work together to cover up the embezzlement issue. Liu Yong serves as the magistrate of Jiangning at that time, but he can’t expose the issue at his position. One day, Emperor Qianlong meets a beauty Yin Hong by casual when performing the inspection. Emperor Qianlong and He Shen are put into jail immediately. Ye Guotai orders Liu Yong to examine and settle the case. Part 3: Plum Intoning
In the end of an abundant year, Emperor Qianlong casually intones a poem. Liu Yong helps to complete an excellent poem when emperor suddenly has less idea. He Shen is very jealous of the talent of Liu Yong. Princess collects this excellent poem into Liu Yong’s writing later. He Shen catches a chance to put Liu Yong into jail under the accusation of plagiary emperor’s copyright, and intents to doom Liu Yong to death through emperor’s hand. Emperor doesn’t truly mean to offer Liu Yong a sward to suicide himself, but bluffs for fun to less his over confidence. Couple Liu Yong and Princess use their intelligence to free themselves away from the catastrophes. At a critical moment, they win back the attention from the emperor again, and make He Shen in an embarrass position in the end.
